It seems that we here at AAWD are an office full of autumn-loving people. Just for grins, I asked around and found out what sorts of things specifically that we all love best about the season.
Personally, I love the chill in the air; the crisp, darkening leaves; Halloween and all it brings; and pumpkin-flavored everything! This time of year always reminds me of the lines “Two roads diverged in a yellow wood and I – I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference” from Robert Frost’s classic poem “The Road Not Taken”. These months simply cannot be beat!
Turns out, I’m not the only one with an affinity for the three months between “hotter than Hades” and “frozen tundra”. “Fall is my favorite time of year. I get to pull out my comfy clothes and yes – those knee-length socks and boots. I love stepping outside and smelling the crisp air as well as the occasional bonfire in the subdivision. After a long, busy day, sitting on the patio with hot cider and soaking in all the colors of the rainbow around me is absolutely wonderful. And of course – the dogs love playing in the crunchy leaves, too,” according to our office supervisor, Hannah.
Karen proclaimed an affinity for the visual aspect of the season, as well, with the statement “I love the earth tones, they’re such a calm array of colors”. Josh went with temperature in his response, saying that the part he loves best is the increasingly colder weather. Hmm. Sounds like someone might actually looking forward to the impending snowpocalypse that will likely start in December.
Megan responded “Fall is honestly my favorite time of year. The cool, crisp weather, the leaves changing colors and falling off the trees. It’s perfect for bonfires with friends and family, plus it’s time for Thanksgiving, my favorite holiday!” Sounds like she likes a little bit of everything! Jill’s response was that her favorite part centered around going to an orchard and picking apples. Maybe she’ll bring in some cider to share with us one of these days?
Andrea said she best loves watching her kids play in the leaves, and Cody mentioned that he adores hoodie weather, football season, and the fall colors. Marissa went back to nature with her favorite, “the crunchy sound of the leaves when I walk on them.” Nate proclaims that his best-loved parts include duck hunting (watch out, Donald and Daffy!), especially driving to his various hunting sites and seeing the sun gracefully show its face through the tree line over the marsh as it grows to never-ending exquisiteness; the changing leaves; the beautiful sunrises; and the crispness in the air.
We’re all hoping you enjoy fall just as much as we do!
